Payton

So it has been one of those days. You know the kind. The ones were you are gone all day (7 AM to 7 PM). Not to mention getting woken up at the crack of dawn to find a little girl who has turned on some of the lights upstairs and she is sitting on the floor surrounded by pee. Okay we all have similar days. Payton has been battling "bladder infections" for the past month. She is in pain and is having a hard time controlling her potty. The doctor called yesterday and asked us to come in today. So I left work a few minutes early and brought her to the doctor. The good news is Payton does not have a bladder infection! The bad news is that there is something wrong with her and they don't know what it is. They do know that there is blood and protein in her urine. This is not good considering your body needs the blood and protein. My very strong willed daughter easily gave into us getting urine samples twice in the last month. She had more blood and protein in her urine the second time, then the first. So the doctor is sending us to a Kidney Specialist and Payton had to get her blood drawn this after noon. My little Ms. cried, but did a great job as they took 4 or 5 vials of blood (concentrating on holding her arm, not quite sure the exact number). It drained slowly because she jerked and it slowed the blood flow. She totally deserved ice cream after that. She will not bend her arm where they took the blood. She keeps it straight out from her body. Oh well, maybe tomorrow she will forget and bend her arm. :) The doctor said it could be as bad as Kidney Disease or as little as nothing. We will see; hopefully sooner rather then later. I know it is something. Payton would not just loose control of her bladder for no reason. So we will see. Hopefully it will be something minor.

I am sorry Michelle. My niece went through a similar situation. They ran all kinds of test and it ended up being a bladder infection that didn't respond to the antibiotics they were trying. They gave her some stronger ones, and she got better. I hope it ends up being something simple like that. Best of luck. Keep me posted and let me know if you need anything. I hope tomorrow is better.

Did she almost pass out when they took her blood? A couple of weeks ago when I donated blood, I almost passed out and had to lie down with my feet over my head for awhile.

Poor Payton! I'm so sorry you guys have to go through this. Hopefully you'll find out really soon what it is so you can start treatments.

Michelle...
Doesn't it seem like these things always happen when your husband is gone? I'm so sorry for Payton and for you. I really hope they make a diagnosis soon so that she can get better and you can have a little relief. I'll keep checking in to see how it goes.
