Crazy Week

This week has been a difficult one for all of us. Wednesday Payton came home from school crying and whining. I am not kidding when I say she cried/ whinnied for 5 hours. I asked her why she was upset. She asked why daddy was always at work. I told her that daddy worked far away and I emphasized that daddy still loved her and would be home soon. She continued to be sad. I then remembered over hearing a boy ask her why her daddy never picks her up from school. The boy asked such an innocent question and we all had to suffer for 5 hours. Payton was so miserable. Good thing we get to sleep and forget our worries.

Friday Madison came home from school crying. I asked her why she was crying and she told me she had a horrible day. I asked her what happened and she told me that somebody stole her brownie and she didn't get to play kickball at P.E. She was so devastated, so we went to the store and got her a candy bar.

Today I was angry because a women was complaining that her husband was gone for 10 days and her kids were acting up. I was fuming. My husband has been gone for a year and I have kids acting up every day!! I was sending hate vibes. Now I didn't say anything. But now that I look back at the situation, why couldn't I just be sympathetic. I should have been nice and understanding. Well, at least I kept my big mouth shut. Next week will be better. I know it will!

2nd attempt

Here is my second attempt of making cupcakes from my cookbook. It was fun and easy. Are they perfect? No, but I never omitted I was an artist! :) I can't wait to give them to my friend Megan. She just had a beautiful baby girl.

New Years 2010

For New Years Eve we went to my grandma's house. It was a lot of fun. I have not been there in 10 years. My girls got to have fun with my cousins.

I got to spend time with 2 Texas friends. Candice (not pictured) and an old high school friend Sarah and her husband. It was great to catch up.
We also got to see my brother bless his new baby, Major Robert Powell. It was a great end to our Christmas vacation. Happy New Year!

Christmas 2009

I hope you all had a great Christmas. Mine was bitter sweet. I had a great time, but missed my husband terribly.
Here we are in the Las Vegas airport waiting for the plane to leave.
Near my parent's house there is a horse stable that decorates with Christmas lights. We had fun walking through and seeing all the lights.
It was cold outside so we got some hot chocolate to warm us up.
The girls love my parent's and my little sister and brothers. The girls had fun ever minute of the day.
On Christmas Eve we made hello dollys and cookies for Santa. We also had carrots for the reindeer and the girls wrote Santa a letter.
Christmas morning we woke up and had eggs golden rod. Then we went and opened the presents.
The only thing Madi asked Santa for was bath bubbles. She was very disappointed to find out that Santa made a mistake and got her body wash instead of bubbles. Oooops!

It rained on Christmas day. It was perfect for the new umbrella's the girls got!
The only thing Payton asked for was a princess umbrella. At least Santa got one thing right. I got to talk to Greg three times on Christmas. It was nice. I wish you all had a wonderful time with family and friends. I know I did.

Our 8th Anniversary

I know I am so late on posting anything Christmas, but here we go. The 22nd of December brought Greg and I to our 8th anniversary. It was a hard long day. I purposefully made it so I was traveling to my parents house on that day. I tried not to think about the fact that I didn't have him around, but I tried to remember the good times of our marriage.
When I got to my parents house there were these beautiful roses waiting for me. They just kept getting prettier and prettier for a week.
I am so grateful for Greg. I love him very much. He is such and wonderful man and husband. I can't wait until he returns and we can move on to more and exciting things for the next 8 years and more!
