June Part 2

I have meant to finish up our June trip, but I have just not felt like sitting at the computer to down load pictures. I have not been sitting around. We have been swimming everyday and spending time with family. I have also picked up the Harry Potter series and am currently reading them all again. I am half way done with the 6th and have to read the 7th. I am not a fast reader, but I am still surprised it has taken me two months to read the 6 books. Well anyway, I have really enjoyed reading them again. I read the books only once before and that was many years ago, for most of them.

Man I realize I am long winded, sorry. Let me get back to June. So after we got back to my mom's and dad's house after Myrtle Beach, we got right back in the car and went to Disney World. Can I say that I like Disneyland better?! Disneyland is so much closer together and there are almost the same rides. But, I did enjoy myself there. We drove down on a Thursday and went to...

Thursday/ EPCOT
Epcot was a bit to old for my girls. They could not do a whole lot. Though, they did like the Finding Nemo ride.
We also ate with the Princesses. That was a fun experience. You sit and eat and the princesses come around to your table. My girls were in heaven.

Friday/ Magic Kingdom
The girls had fun taking pictures with all of the characters like Stitch and Buzzlightyear, just to name a few. Payton got a Sleeping Beauty dress and Madi got a Belle dress (thanks grandma)!

Here we are in front of the castle. Magic Kingdom does not have Matterhorn, but is almost exactly the same as Disneyland. We had fun eating Mickey rice crispy treats and riding all the fun rides like Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean. Space mountain was closed for remodeling :(
The girls were EXHAUSTED. I thought this was such a cute picture of them sleeping. It was around 11PM at night. I was jealous I could not lay down and sleep with them. But someone has to be the parent.

Saturday/ Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios
I actually really enjoyed Animal Kingdom. I would go there again and spend a whole day. We went on some fun roller coasters. For those of you who like Matterhorn at Disneyland, they have Mount Everest at Animal Kingdom. But don't expect the white mountain to be the same. It was so different, but it is the best Disney roller coaster I have been on (The Aerosmith ride at Disney's Hollywood studios is a runner up). The ride took place inside the mountain. You could not see anything. You were going backwards, doing twists, turns, flips, and more. I almost lost my glasses. Oh it was fun!

The safari ride was VERY fun. The animals are right next to you.

Here is one example of the many animals inside the safari. We had to stop for this giraffe to move out of the road, that is how close he was. The ostrich (not pictured) was within arms reach, but we did not touch him. We wanted to keep our fingers.
James and William
(It was William's birthday. Happy Birthday William!)

My wonderful mom and dad! Thanks for bringing us!
We also went to Disney's Hollywood studios this day, but my camera stopped working on the safari ride. We had fun at DHS. It had a lot of the same rides that you find in California Adventure and Disneyland, like Toy Story Mania, Hotel Tower of Terror, Star Tours (Madi's favorite).
As I was in a ride line I overheard a women say that next time she goes to Disney World, she would go for 10 days. I do not share her enthusiasm. Four days was good, maybe five would be better, but 10?! I am happy that I am only hours from Disneyland. But, I wouldn't mind going to Disneyworld again someday.

New Hair (yet again)!

I have been wanting a short hair cut for about 6 months. The last two times I went into the salon I told my hairstylist I wanted boy short hair. She asked what I wanted and I never knew for sure. Going short is a huge leap, so I didn't want to just jump into any old cut. So I ended up not doing it. Well, I was discussing maybe having short hair to my sister-in-law Megan. She cuts hair very well. I asked her if she thought I could do Kate's hair from John and Kate Plus 8. She thought I should try it. So here I am. My sister-in-laws call me Kachelle (Kay-shell). It's been fun. I feel like a new women!

For all my family and friends that I don't see or haven't seen for a while, there you have it. I have short hair! I actually really love it!

June Part 1

June went by very fast, but it was jam packed with tons of fun. I was able to recover about 85% of my pictures. I am really excited to share them with you. I found a computer recovery place who recovered my SD card and put the pictures on a disk. Enjoy...

While at my mom's and dad's house we had a surprise visit from my sister Emily and her husband Scott. We had a lot of fun hanging out for 24 hours. We went and saw Star Trek and the girls went with us. They loved it. Payton keeps talking about it and asks if she can see it again. While there it was my dad's birthday. (Sorry about the sideways picture. The recovered pictures are in art studio and I could not figure out how to change the layout). The picture is not blurry. My dad just had a lot of candles and this is the smoke coming off of the blown out candles. Happy birthday dad. I am glad we could be there for your birthday!

This picture is not very clear. The recovery of it was poor, but Madi had such a fun time sitting on this lawn mower with my dad.
I mentioned we went to Myrtle Beach. This was at the aquarium. It was fun. The girls love animals and the aquarium is a fun one for them. This is my brother James.
We also went and saw the Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede dinner show. It was fun. We sat on the North side of the room and the North won. I have no pictures of it, but it was a once in a life time experience :)

The swimming pool at our hotel was awesome. We had a ton of fun. Sarah and I sat in the kids Tikki pool. It was 1 foot so Sarah could sit up easily and we just hung out watching the girls.
Here is Madi in the pool at the hotel. She is a cutie!!
At the beach there was a beach wheelchair for Sarah. It was easy to push her around the beach in it. I even brought her in the water were the waves crashed into her feet. It was fun.

Of course you can't go to the beach without making a sand castle. Payton and I made this one. Payton did not like the waves, so Greg and I took turns watching her on the beach while the other took Madi far into the water.

My wonderful family. I love them so much. They are the best kids and husband a women could ask for. We were sad to leave the beach. The water was very warm! We are defintely going to make another trip to Myrtle Beach in the future.
I will have to publish pictures for the rest of June soon. Bye for now!

Home

The girls have been away from home for 6 weeks. They spent that time in South Carolina where my mom lives. 6 weeks is a long time. I joined them for the last 3 weeks. It was fun. We went to Myrtle Beach as I already mentioned and last weekend we went to Disney World, which I might say is fun, but Disneyland is better. We got home late last night (thanks Tara for picking us up so late!). The girls ran in the house and started dusting. I have no idea why. But I guess my mom rubbed off on them. They dusted the whole downstairs. I then dragged them to bed (it was 12:30). Madi woke up early this morning and immediately began playing with her toys. Madi missed pickles the most. Yes pickles. As soon as I pulled, no dragged, myself out of bed, she begged me for a pickle. She is silly. I wonder if my mom had pickles?! Payton missed her skirts. I did not pack a skirt for her. So for six weeks she did not have a skirt. This morning I laid out clothes and she said no and ran to her room and put on a skirt. That is my girly girl for you. I am glad to be home, but sad at the same time. It is busy and fun with the girls, but the house feels empty with one less person.

I am completely bummed out. At the end of my Disney world trip, my memory card stopped working. I cannot assess any of my pictures. I tried three different places to assess them. Does anyone know how I can get my pictures off of the SD card? HELP! I have pictures from Myrtle Beach, Disney World and my dad's birthday. I want those pictures! I will go and buy another SD card, but what about my pictures on the old one?! Any suggestions on where I can go to get the pictures off of the damaged SD card?
