Missing In Action

There are many reasons why I have been missing in action. I am sorry I have not blogged in almost three weeks. I had my mom here for a week and then my sisters and I went to Disneyland over Memorial weekend. So here are pictures from my many adventures! This section is titled,

What are Grandma's/ mom's good for?

Many things, but...
1. They bring you to Chuck-E-Cheese and buy you the big prize since you did not earn it!

2. They help you learn to recycle (Just kidding). They bring you shopping (Even for clothes the mommy doesn't want her 5 year old daughter in, namely crocks and Hannah Montana gear.)
3. They bring you to the park

4. They bring you to see the play Lion King (sorry no picture)
5. Did I mention shopping?! We did a lot of that!
6. Mom and daughter night on the town. We went and saw The Beatles Love show. By the way I love Love!
7. They like to clean the bathrooms and keep the house clean during the day!
8. They comfort you when you need it the most.

I am so grateful that my mom had the opportunity to come and visit us for a week. I love you mom!

Sisters Weekend!!
So my sisters are all spread out. I live in Vegas, Emily lives in Chicago (at the moment), Anna lives in Portland, and Sarah South Carolina. Saying this, we never get to see each other. So I got all of my sisters to fly to Vegas and we drove to California last weekend. It was a great adventure. Can I mention that this was Sarah's first airline flight all by herself?! My little sister is growing up (a tear falls). Anyway here are some of our pictures!
Waiting in the line for the Aladdin show at California Adventure.
Emily and Anna on Autotopia. (Sarah and I are in the car behind them)
Just finished Toy Story Mania
We rode Buzz Light year three times. We all made it to level 3. We are Planetary Pilots!!
It's a Small World After All...
And of course what does every girl like, shopping!! We all had a blast. I am still trying to recover from it all! Can't wait to do it again. How about a cruise next time?!

Happy Mother's Day

I want to wish all women out there a Happy Mother's Day! I am especially thankful for my mother and my mother-in-law. My husband and I have been raised by the best mom's in the world. Thank you mom for all you have done for me in my life. Aren't these flowers beautiful?! Greg sent them to me for my birthday/ Mother's Day, which both happen to be today. I love the pink tulips and blue irises. They came to me in a box. They were flower buds. It took them two days to open up, they were totally worth the wait. Thanks Greg, I love you.

Kudos for me!

I pride myself in being girly girl. I like to shop, look nice, etc. But I have become a better home maker this past couple of weeks. I fixed my dishwasher that was leaking water, deleted and added a new spy ware program on the computer, and now fixed my leaky faucet in the tub. Okay, I realize that we are not suppose to brag. I am not trying to brag, but I feel so good about what I did, I wanted to share.

One hour+$20= a fixed leaky faucet.

Madison

Madi was sick yesterday. She woke up early Thursday morning throwing up and she had diarrhea. She was a trooper. She laid on the couch not complaining (unlike her mother when she is sick. I'm a big baby when I don't feel good). Later in the morning I turned on Dora and went to take my shower. After I got out I could hear Madi singing Old McDonald had a Farm. Dora had stopped and she just sat there patiently waiting for me to turn a show on for her. We went to the doctor and the doctor was amazed at the smiles and laughs that she got from Madi. Madison is always a happy girl, even when she is sick and can't get off of the couch. I'm thankful for my very sweet, adorable Madi!

***Just in case you were wondering, Madi's doctor said that the swine flue symptoms are high fever with respiratory issues. Madi has a bad stomach bug. I tell you this because I only brought Madi into the doctor just as a precautionary measure with all the hype about swine flu. On the news they said it is flu like symptoms, which I thought throwing up was a symptom, but I was wrong.

Our weekend at a Glance

On Friday we met a friend from work so we could shop and watch a movie in the park at The District at Green Valley Ranch. It was fun, but the weather turned bad so the movie in the park was canceled. Instead we ate dinner in the park and then went on the carousel twice.

Payton on an Elephant and Madi on the frog.Hi Madi

Then on Saturday we went to the water park and then to the Las Vegas outlet mall. The girls needed their yearly set of sandals. Every kid needs sandals in Vegas from about May to October. This year Madi needs shoes with a back strap, for school (she starts Kindergarten in August!! I have already signed her up!!). There is also a carousel at the outlet mall, so of course I had to bring them again. By the way, they are not cheap. $2 a kid x 2 kids x 3 rides each + one really sick mom. This is usually a Greg job, but there are things that I have now had to start doing myself. Madi always tells me she will go by herself because she knows I get sick, but a parent has to accompany kids.My very cute Madi!Payton wanted to sit with me. Do you like her expression? She has a huge yellow gumball in her mouth.Hi Payton!

Madi begged to go back to the movie in the park on Saturday night. Since the weather was better we went. They played "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." Madi enjoyed it, Payton was getting antsy at the end. It is fun, they give out free popcorn and you bring your own blankets to lay on.Here is a picture of Madi laying down right as the credits started. You can kind of see the screen in the back ground. It was a fun, busy weekend. I am always thankful that Sundays are good days to sit and relax.
