Garlic Breadsticks

I have to start off by apologizing to my sister-in-law. This is her recipe that we have in the McClellan cookbook. I have received many compliments and many people are asking for the recipe so I hope that you don't mind that I am posting it for my friends.

Bread sticks
1 pkg. of yeast
1 1/2 cups water
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour

Topping
4 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/8 cup mayo
thyme and garlic powder to taste

Put yeast in warm water to rise. In the mean time put flour, salt and honey in a mixing bowl. Add yeast/ water and mix. Spread the dough on the bottom of a cookie sheet. Spread topping on top. Let rise for 15-45 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

Enjoy!!

SPC McClellan

My husband is known as Specialist McClellan these days. I thought I would share a few thoughts about my SPC McClellan. I just want you to know that he is the best man I have ever met (just barely beating my wonderful dad and father-in-law). Greg is the best father a wife could ever ask for. He is so good with my girls. My girls adore him! The other day Payton wanted to play hide-and-seek with him and he did. The girls had so much fun. After they were done, I asked Greg how the game was. Greg commented that it was easy because the girls always hide in the same place. Madi loves playing video games with Greg. He patiently teaches Madi how to play Star Wars Legos and Batman. He will do anything for me. I love it when I come home to folded laundry and clean bathrooms. Now don't get me wrong, since Greg and I both work, we take turns cleaning the bathrooms. But the fact is, he is willing to help me out. Greg has it set in his mind that he has to work to support the family, which I love. He always works hard and the people at his work generally like working with him. He has graduated from college so he can get a job to support his family. Greg is patient with me. He is comforting when I am sad or scared. He does not make fun of me when I am scared of a spider. I love him so much and trust him with my life.

Greg has gone to some trainings lately and the girls and I have missed him terribly. One day we came home and Payton yells, "mom, mom, daddy's home!" I told her ,"not yet." She did not listen to me and ran inside the house yelling"daddy, daddy, were are you?" I was heart broken. She really thought daddy was home. Each day we pray for Greg and we know that he is safe and will come home to us soon! I love you Greg!

Madi

We went to the Town Square Park today. The girls love going. Today they had the water going. Madi loved running through and getting soaked. Payton wanted me to carry her through, so I did. We were all very wet, but it was fun. I had the girls go in the water first thing, so they would not drip water in the car. After a while we went and played on the slide, in the maze, etc. We were on the "merry-go-round" (don't know what else to call it) and there were about 30 kids running and yelling in the water. The water stops every five minutes. When the water stopped all 30 kids just stopped and stared wondering why the water stopped. Not one kid moved or talked, they were all dazed and confused. Madi then takes action. She runs over yelling "don't worry guys, I will help you, I know how to turn it back on!!" The kids continue staring as Madi pushes these adults out of the way (they were sitting in front of the button) and she turns the water back on. The kids immediately start yelling and running again and Madi goes back to pushing her sister around on the "merry-go-round." I had to laugh, Madi is my little helper and she is not afraid of anything.

Spring Break part 2

Since we went to California on Baseball's opening week, Greg had to go to a game. Since the A's stadium was only minutes from our hotel, we went to a game. It was fun. They had fun activities for the kids. It is so much more fun going to a game rather then sitting and watching it at home. Notice Payton asleep on Greg's lap. She is covering her ears. She doesn't like loud noises.
Madi won this hat and she just had to have the hand.
When Payton wasn't asleep she was playing Madi's DS. (I think Payton plays the DS more then Madi, though they both love to play it)

After the game we went to the beach. Madi has been talking about going for a long time now, so we went. This is her first trip into the water. Madi was very disappointed that she did not get to swim in the ocean.Payton did not love the water. She did love digging and building in the sand. After the beach we went to Joe's and ate. It was right on the water. It was fun watching the boats go past.I am so sad spring break had to end. It is nice to be home. I am thankful for all of the memories we were able to make as a family.

Spring Break

For spring break we went to Disneyland. It was a lot of fun. We had a great time as a family and we were able to spend some time with Greg's parents, brother and his brother's fiance, Emily. I can't wait to go back again sometime soon. Here are some of the pictures and videos of our trip.Of course we took lots of pictures with characters.

It was a lot of fun in Toon Town. We went to Minnie's house and the girls had lots of fun.

Payton wasn't too active. She complained when she had to walk even in the lines. She was excited and had fun, but I think the medicines that she is on are affecting her a little bit. In fact she was carried everywhere. Every muscle hurts from my neck down. The girls with Minnie Mouse

My favorite ride was the new Toy Story Mania ride in California Adventure. It was so much fun. We went on it 3 times! Madi's favorite ride was Star Tours and Payton's was either Buzz Light Year or Small World (she can't decide).

California Adventures was fun, but most of the rides are for kids taller then my girls. At Disneyland Madi was tall enough for every ride but Indiana Jones. At California Adventure she could only go on about 5 rides. In California Adventure they have a Brother Bear section. The girls loved playing in there.

This is Madi on a zip line. She did a great job holding on!!

I thought this was a good picture to end with. Don't they look tired?! Well, the funny thing is that we arrived on Wednesday and we went straight to the park entrance to trade our ticket vouchers for real tickets. This was the walk back to our hotel room. It was not a hard, long day.

I love Disneyland. I plan on going back many times in the future.
