In the McClellan House we had a very relaxing two weeks off. We started the vacation off with going to see the Bellagio water show and conservatory. It is a very common Vegas pastime, that I love, but don't do very often. No offense to tourists, but I don't like them. Anyway, we braved the cold and people and went and saw the pretty flower displays. We heard two songs, a Christmas song and a classical, it was perfect.
We ran to the Sephora store between water shows. We had to cross the street to get there. As we were at the stop light waiting to cross, a billboard on wheels stopped right in front of us. Madi looks up at the "direct, women to you" billboard and says really loudly "WOW!" I immediately tried to direct her eyes to the Paris' Eiffel tower instead of the three nearly naked women on the billboard. She wouldn't have it. Well, needless to say we are going to be very careful next time we are on the strip.
On our anniversary, December 22, we drove to Phoenix to see Greg's sister and family. It was so much fun. Stephanie watched our girls for us as Greg and I went out on the town for a night and day. It was good to be away from kids for a short 24 hours. We then spent lots of quality time with the Eaton's. We made candy trains, went shopping at Last Chance, played dominoes, words with friends and ate lots of food!! I love Stephanie's cooking. Can you guess what this red and green thing is?
It's french bread. I went to the grocery store to buy some french bread for a breakfast casserole for Christmas morning. I only found this red and green bread. I went to the baker and inquired what it was suppose to be. She said it was french bread. I asked her where the regular french bread was and she said that this was it. So I bought it and sure enough it did taste just like regular french bread. Who would have thought?!The girls get pj's every Christmas eve. Here are their cute pj's.
The girls each got a bike for Christmas.
Madi got her bubble bath that she wanted last year!!
We had to run back home the Sunday after Christmas. Greg had to work, so the girls and I spent some time with friends the last week. One of the days we went to M&M world. It was so much fun. They actually updated it quite a bit.
Waiting in line for the 3D movie!
Then we headed over to Coca Cola World. We sat and drank Cokes and Sprites. (Daddy wasn't very happy that Madi got a Coke, but hey this is only her 2nd one in her life. She survived.)
The girls were so cute, they said cheers to every person who walked by. Everybody loved it. I was a little worried when a couple teenage boys took a picture though. I guess somewhere in Asia there will be a picture of the 5 girls on a guys camera. I just don't want to think about it to much.
Well of course with M&M's being $13 a pound at M&M world, we didn't want to buy them there. We headed to Sam's Club and found the Christmas M&M's on sale for $4.95 for 56 ounces.
The New Year's was great. The girls went to a friends house for a few hours while Megan and Tyler McHenry came over. We played games until midnight. We drank sparkling cider and then finished our game before going to bed. The next morning we went to Krispy Kreme, which is a tradition in our family. I was sad to go back to work, but hey, I know Greg and my pocketbook are happy! I hope everyone had a great Christmas like we did!

Magical Forest
This past week Madison and I went to the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village with our first grade field trip. It was so much fun. The people gave the teachers two free tickets to go back and enjoy with our families. Papa Larry came to visit us this weekend, so we thought it would be a great thing to do with him. The lights and displays were beautiful!! (I wish I had a better camera to capture the lights, oh well.) The Alpine slide:
We had a lot of fun on the slide, it took 30 minutes in line, for a 15 second slide, but we all had fun!
The Frosty mini golf:Random pics:
Santa:
We visited Mrs. Claus first!
Madi got to ask for a bike when we went to the field trip last Tuesday. Last night she said that Santa was not real and she was glad she wrote the real Santa a letter. She makes me laugh!
Walking through the Magical Forest:Fireman squirrels
Cinderella in her carriage
The train:
The line for the train was an hour and a half wait. Greg and Larry stood in it while the girls and I went through the forest and saw Santa. By this time it was 9:30 and the girls were very tired. Larry and I held the girls for a short time.
The train was a lot of fun, but we were ready for bed and we were starving (hadn't eaten dinner and had only snacks since lunch).
What a fun night!! I would recommend that all my Vegas friends go to the Magical Forest!

Town Square and Ethel M's Cactus Gardens 2010
We went, on Saturday, to get our pictures with Santa Claus. We go to the Town Square Santa because he is the best. You get to go in his Norman Rockwell house and have a one-on-one visit with him. This year Mrs. Claus was with him and their dog (a puppet, yes it was a bit weird). Madi was disappointed after because she forgot to tell Santa she wanted a bike. She told him she wanted Toy Story 3. I told her that she wrote Santa a letter and I think Santa will remember, but she is still worried. I think I might need to bring her to Santa again, she does not believe me. She is really worried! I think it has to do with last year. The only thing Madison asked for was Sponge Bob bubble bath. (Santa had a very hard time choosing presents for her because he didn't know what to buy her.) But, Santa made a BIG mistake and picked up Sponge Bob body wash on accident. The one thing she asked for and Santa could not get it right. Well, she brought it up a few weeks ago that Santa makes mistakes and she really wants a bike this year. I am not quite sure I will live it down. Oh, well, it makes for a great story now, just a little nervous Madison! :)
They have this tall Christmas tree in the park, so I couldn't help taking pictures with it and I am so glad I did. I loved the pictures better then the ones with Santa. :)That night we went with our friends the McHenry's to the Cactus Garden at Ethel M's chocolate factory. My camera died half way through, but I got some cute pictures. I was just disappointed that we did not get one with the family. Oh well! I love the holiday season and I am so grateful that we get to celebrate it with Greg this year!!
Madi took this picture!
Payton took this picture!
