Yesterday we went to a pumpkin patch. It was a great Vegas Fall day. 90 degrees, palm trees swaying and a pumpkin patch in a casino parking lot. What can be better then that?!

4 Day Weekend
This weekend Madison has been sick. She woke up Wednesday night and threw up and she also was running a fever. By Friday night her fever was gone, Saturday morning she was throwing up and Saturday night her throat hurt. Today she is all better, I think. At least she is running around the house yelling and she has had a glass of chocolate milk and she has kept it down. That is my way of knowing if the kids are better. One glass of chocolate milk. I always find out very quickly if the tummy is still upset. Please note I only do this if it has been 24 hours since the last throw up incident.
Payton ran a slight fever last night, but I gave her Motrin and she has not had a problem since. Let's hope her body is working to keep off the flu. I am so sorry Tara, I hope your kids don't get it too. Tara was such a help to get Payton to a friends birthday party. Payton was fine Saturday morning, but by the afternoon she ran that slight fever.
I am so stir crazy. Anybody who know me knows that I do not sit around at home. I am always on the go. I am sooo ready to go back to work tomorrow. This just proves that I had to work this year to keep from going insane. I knew I was stir crazy when Madi sneezed and Payton coughed and I yelled for them to stop. Aagh, I will get through this, I will.
This morning at breakfast Payton said the prayer. To preface this I need to explain that this morning we Skyped with daddy for the very first time. It was so fun seeing him on the Internet. The girls loved it to. So during prayer Payton said, "Heavenly Father, please help that we can talk to daddy on the computer again, it was so cool!" I thought that was so sweet. I am very thankful for technology also. Then as we were eating and Madison said, "mom I love water!" I asked why and she said, "because it..is..sooooo FRESH!" The way she said it made me laugh so hard. I too think that water is very refreshing. I guess we share that love for water.
Let's hope we are done getting sick for a while. I hope we all have a great week!

An Almost Family Picture
This weekend we went and got pictures taken. I call it our almost family picture because we are missing our wonderful husband/ father. My mom wanted to see them, so I am posting them for her. Of course it took me so long to post that she probably has her copy in the mailbox today! :)
The girls pictures turned out so cute.
I think this is the first time I ever bought individuals of the girls. Of what fun.
And of course we cannot forget our newest addition to our family, Mr. one armed, one eyebrow, one eyed pirate. Isn't he cute?! To bad we could not find the other arm, eyebrow and ears. Oh well, I just love that October is here!

Flowers
I know some people don't like flowers, but I do. They smell nice and are a great center piece for any occasion. I receive flowers twice a year and that is nice, but the girls and I decided we wanted flowers today. We bought these flowers at Sam's Club. Payton actually asks me every time we go to Sam's Club if I will buy her flowers. I always say later, next time, or wait for your birthday. I decided today was the day! I love them and hope they last for a while.
What have you done for yourself lately? You know you deserve it!

Pottery
At my attempt to be crafty, I have painted some pieces. Whenever I can get a babysitter on a Thursday, I have been going to paint pottery with a friend. It is fun and relaxing. I have white dinner plates with blue flowers, so I was trying to go for that theme as I painted a few things for my kitchen. The platter was fun to paint, but when they put it in the kiln to fire, it cracked. I am so sad. Now I can't use it as a platter, so it is now sitting on my counter as a display item.
I have been wanting a butter dish. I love my new butter dish, it is always in use these days.
My Texas spoon rest has finally gone into retirement as I have painted a new one.
By the way, I did not draw the flowers on this stuff. The pottery places have stencils and you draw right onto the pottery with a ballpoint pen. The pen marks fire off in the kiln. Fun, fun! I can't wait to go back soon!

Pumpkin shirts!
Last Saturday my crafty friends and I tye-dyed these shirts. We then drew pumpkin faces in the circles. It was very fun. The girls love their new shirts. Payton wore her shirt three times this week. I know I have mentioned I love Halloween. Happy Fall to one and all!

Madi's week at a glance
Madi started her swim lessons. She really looks forward to it each week. She is a little disappointed because she knows how to swim. But she doesn't know how to float on her back. They have started her at the bottom level. She is scared to float on her back, so they have to keep her in the class. She wants to move on so badly.
Her teacher was bragging to all the other teachers because Madi could swim quite a distance. Especially since it was her first lesson. We just need to learn to over come her fear of being on her back.
Madi was complaining of a tooth that hurt. The tooth had a crown on it. I got her in to the dentist. As we were driving there Madi said her tooth did not hurt anymore. I told her she was not telling the truth. I asked why she didn't want to go to the dentist and she said it was because she didn't want a shot. I, of course, said they are just going to look at the tooth and take a picture of it. She said OK and went in. 30 minutes later we were leaving the dentist with a tooth that was pulled out (a shot was given). She was so sad she had no tooth, but life got better with ice cream and the tooth fairy visited that night.
Last night I was buying a new dishwasher, because my old one died! Madi and Payton were sitting on chairs that spin. Madi got going so fast that she flew off of it. She literally landed on her head. After she fell, a computer mouse hit the back of her head. My poor Madi has an egg on the back of her head, a bruised cheek, chin, and eye bone. She seems to be OK, but she did have a headache after the fall. I don't blame her.
Madi's week has not been all fun and games, but hey neither has mine. Next week can only be better! :)
