Madi and Star Wars

A couple of months ago Greg introduced Madison to his Star Wars Legos Xbox 360 game. Ever since Madi has been hooked. We counted down the days until the Clone Wars movie came out. She told me last week that she wanted to be Princess Leah for Halloween. Yesterday at Savers she saw a storm trooper costume and now that is her new Halloween love (she will not be a storm trooper, I put my foot down on that.) She saw Greg's Star Wars movies and has been begging to watch them for weeks now. We keep telling her that they are for mommies and daddies. Yesterday I finally gave into her and let her watch one. This morning she asked if she could watch "Master Yoda." I told her OK. I got both girls ready for church and then I was getting ready. I went past the playroom and this is what I found.
Why do kids feel like they have to sit so close to the T.V. screen. Maybe it is because this is the ending climax fight of the movie. She feels she can't miss a second.
Madison still does not realize that I am taking her picture.

Madi finally realizes I am taking a picture and tilts her head a little towards me, not taking her eyes off the T.V.

Now Madison is counting down the days until Batman Legos comes out. I can't wait to see what comes of that. The new Batman movie is definitely a mommy and daddy movie!

Bedtime Stories

My girls love to read books. Most of the time when they are quiet, (which those of you that know my girls, know that they are very loud people and are rarely every quiet) I go to investigate. I always think that they must be doing something bad. But most of the time they are just in their room sitting on the rug looking at books. They love for me to read them book after book. I read until my throat goes dry, then I stop with many complaints from them.

Yesterday we went to the library after school and read books for a good while. Then we came home and they had me read more books after Dinner. I brought them downstairs so I could brush their hair before bed (they just had taken a bath). I started watching a wedding show on TLC and Madi sat on my lap to watch it. Then a few minutes later I realized that Payton was not by me. I went up stairs and found her in bed reading this Scooby Doo book. Oh, the joys of motherhood!

Preschool

Madison started preschool yesterday at the public school that we are zoned for. She is in a special ed. classroom and she was put in as a typical peer. Meaning she is typical developing. She is doing well, but her teacher says that she is very energetic. I think that is putting it nicely. I guess today as they were putting the kids on the bus, Madi ran off and stuck her nose in the exhaust pipe of the bus. I am not surprised, she still puts everything in her mouth. I am glad that she could be in this class. I really think it will help her when she goes to kindergarten next year. I will bring her to my school and there are about 27 kids in the full day kindergarten classrooms (that is with no aid, I will never teach kindergarten). (Right now the fourth grade teachers have 38 kids, you should see the line, it is as long as the side of the MP room.)
The family is relaxing after a long day at work and school!! Madi is not getting her usual nap since she is in the afternoon preschool class. This morning she slept in until 7:00A.M. This is the girl who usually gets a 2 hour nap and sleeps from 8-6. When she was still sleeping at 6:30. my first thought was that something was wrong, but then I pushed my paranoid fear away and reminded myself that she needs it since she is no longer getting a nap. I will miss those days terribly (the naps I mean).

Rain in Vegas!!

Do the girls look guilty or what? I was inside making dinner when I realized that the girls were outside getting very wet. It rained after work today and the girls decided it would be fun to go out and play in the puddles, plus the wagon was full of water. Truthfully I am jealous, I want to be out there playing in the water also, but then who would make dinner?!

Relaxing Sundays

This week, like many, was extremely busy. It is always nice when Sundays come along. We don't have to do much, just sit at church. My favorite season is Fall. The weather is just barely starting to cool off now (it is in the 90's and that feels nice, how sad). The girls and I decided to go out on the patio this afternoon. Payton loves to draw with chalk. She is starting to draw recognizable pictures.
The older Madi gets the more she can do. I know it is an obvious thing, but as I watch Madi ride this bike I think about all the other things that she can now do, like count, identify numbers and certain letters, play go fish, etc. Being a mother is a wonderful job.
Madi took a picture of Payton and I sitting on the patio chair.
Madison took this picture of Payton. I thought it was cute.

Isn't Payton's drawing cute. She said that this was a picture of herself and Madi (later she said they were "ghostests").

My house

I had a request to post pictures of our new house. So here they are. My down stairs is a big circle, with the stairs, closet and bathroom in the middle. This is our family room. It is in the shape of an L but you can't see the other part. It has a wet bar and the ball pit is currently residing there.

This is my kitchen. It is three sizes bigger then my apartment kitchen. I love it. Now I just need a bigger kitchen table.
The girls playroom is up stairs. The playroom is just that, a playroom, there is always a big mess in there. No one is ever up stairs so I on;y clean it once a week. Oops I think that was a confession.

Madi and Payton's room is purple. Purple is Madi's favorite color. All their clothes are on top of the dresser because I have not cleared out their old, smaller clothes yet. The girls love to read and I cannot keep the books from staying on the ground.

My bedroom was red when we moved in. It probably won't stay red forever. I have three bathrooms. They are old and need bad remodeling. Two are upstairs and one downstairs.

This is our back yard/ patio. The girls love coming back here and since it is enclosed I don't care if they go out when ever they want. The brown wall is the garage. The fence is to my neighbors patio. We love being here. This is more then double the space we have had for the last seven years. We are grateful to our Heavenly Father for providing to us.
